Duncan Greenland is a successful business founder, angel investor and Board Advisor who founded and grew Study Group International (a leading provider of language courses for international students) in the 1990s. Duncan the major shareholder of the business sold it to the Daily Mail Group.
Study Group is an acknowledged leader in international education specialising in the provision of world-class university access and English language programmes. Each year over 55,000 students from more than 140 countries enter these programmes.
More recently Duncan has become an active angel investor in a number of rapidly growing digitalbusinesses including Carwow and HouseRental one whilst also being a Non-Executive Director and lead investor in Real Gap, the UK’s fastest growing Gap Year programme provider and a Founder Board member of the British Educational Travel Association (BETA).
Duncan chose to become an investor & Director of Lingos as he felt that we have the right product strategy in a global and growing market with the right management team to execute the plan.
This is good news for Lingos because Duncan also has an extensive contact list in the education and investment sector plus extensive experience as a Board Director assisting businesses to rapidly grow.

Recent research carried out by movehub.com found that English is far and away the most spoken second language. September .. the beginning of a new year for those with children returning to school! And from this September it will be compulsory for all children aged 7 and above, i.e. from Year 2, to learn a second language at school in the UK. This new policy reflects growing concern about the lack of emphasis on learning a second language within british culture and the dwindling number of students choosing to study languages at GCSE, A-Level and University level.
